Bible Verse Meditating, 26 February – 4 March, 2023

  1. Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
    —— Revelation 21:1-4 (NKJV)

  2. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
    —— Philippians 2:3-5 (NKJV)

If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care
then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends.
Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead.
Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
    —— Philippians 2:1-4 (MSG)

  3. 20 But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ!
21 My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus.
22 Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything – and I do mean everything – connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life – a God-fashioned life,
23 a life renewed from the inside
24 and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.
    —— Ephesians 4:20-24 (MSG)

22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.
23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
    —— Ephesians 4:22-24 (NLT)

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
    —— Romans 12:2 (MSG)

  4. 13 “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.
    —— Exodus 15:13 (NLT)

  5. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
    —— 1 John 1:8-10 (NLT)

  6. Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out
So I never lose sight of your love, But keep in step with you, never missing a beat.
    —— Psalms 26:2-3 (MSG)

11 Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do, and I will obey you faithfully; teach me to serve you with complete devotion.
12 I will praise you with all my heart, O Lord my God; I will proclaim your greatness forever.
13 How great is your constant love for me! You have saved me from the grave itself.
    —— Psalms 86:11-13 (GNT)

  7. That’s why we have this Scripture text: No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it – What God has arranged for those who love him.
    —— 1 Corinthians 2:9 (MSG)
